About Ruposhi Bangla

Ruposhi Bangla Ltd. was established in October 1974. The company has been at its present premises since 1978. Extension work was carried out in 1987 in order to increase the storage area and to provide better services to our customers, whether they be public libraries, schools, educational institutions, community organisations or the general public. The space is large enough to accommodate ten customers at a time. Ruposhi Bangla provides free tea and coffee in the premises for its customers, so that they can browse through the stock, which at present stands at approximately 40,000 volumes.

The office, show room and store areas span 4 floors and covers 4000sq.ft.

Ruposhi Bangla has been supplying Bengali books all over Britain and Europe since 1974.

We specialise in Bengali books published in Bangladesh and India. Besides Bengali books, we also stock books in English, including translations of Bengali stories, poetry, history, geography, politics, economics and commerce. We have also been a supplier of Bengali books to LASER - CILLA (Co-operative for Indic Languages and Literature) since 1982.

Goods available from Ruposhi Bangla are as follows:

Adult books: including Fiction, Non-fiction, Reference materials, both in Paperback and hardbacks.

Children's/Teenagers materials: including Fiction, Non-fiction, Reference materials, Text books for language learning, Audio visual learning materials and Dual text materials.

Audio & Video: including Bengali music tapes and CDs, also Talking books.

Artefacts & various multicultural materials including posters, viewcards, Eid cards, maps, slides.

Stock: We maintain a stock worth £40,000 throughout the year. New stock arrives from Bangladesh and India usually at intervals of 2-3 months. Facilities for shop selection and bulk purchasing are available.
